Kazakhstan Completes Performances at the World Championships in Singapore

Kazakhstani swimmers delivered results close to national records.

The Kazakhstani team concluded its performances on the seventh day of the World Aquatics Championships taking place in Singapore, reports Insports.kz. On the team’s final day of competition, August 3, Adelaida Pchelintseva competed in the 100m breaststroke heats. She delivered a solid result but did not advance to the semifinals. Her final placement and time will be included in the team’s overall report, to be presented by the head coach. Earlier, Kseniya Ignatova placed 28th in the 200m backstroke with a time of 2:14.09. Adilbek Musin competed in two events: 22nd place in the 100m butterfly (51.87) and 52nd in the 50m freestyle (22.84). Sofia Spodarenko clocked 26.75 seconds in the 50m butterfly, finishing 32nd. All Kazakhstani athletes swam close to national record marks. However, the heavy training workload and recent training camp in Malaysia prevented them from reaching peak performance. The team’s staff emphasized that the athletes are focused on the main competitions of the autumn.

“We are competing under heavy load, preparing for autumn. It’s important to understand — we are not standing still, but the whole world is moving forward,” the team stressed.

The team now shifts its focus to the Asian Championships, to be held in India from September 27 to October 3, and the Islamic Games in Saudi Arabia in November. At these events, the Kazakhstani swimmers aim to showcase peak form and challenge national records.

The World Championships in Singapore, which started on July 27, brought together over 1,000 athletes from more than 200 countries.
